Fifth & Seventh place in this months Resume

This months Resume contest for web gave us a 5th place for Grin Widget "Skynet Take Over" Widget and a 7th place for Ving "Mallorca" website.
We are of course very happy about that =)

Bronze awarded in One Show

Last weekend the One Show Interactive awards ceremony took place. Forsman & Bodenfors website was awarded a bronze pen. We are very happy to see our work being recognized and we also want to congratulate F&B that took three more bronze awards for AMF "MMS", Wasabröd "Sandwich" and IKEA "Come into the closet. Let's dance".

Nominated...

This year we have two nominations in One Show.
One is for the F&B website(www.fb.se) and the other one is a small app we made for Euro 2008 fotball championship. The application showed results and videos in realtime.
If you ran it at work and someone was coming you had a shortcut to transform the application to an excel spreadsheet so no one would know you were doing non work related activities =)

Golden egg awards is over for this year

I bet there are lots of people in the media business in sweden that have headaches this morning. The party last night was going on until early this morning =)

We got a diploma for our nominated production "Sveriges skönaste dialekt" and partly also a silver egg. The campaign "Born to be cheap" for Tele2 got a silver and we helped out creating all online campaign banners... approx. one thousand of those were made.

Congratulations to all winners, it was really fun to watch on livestream (bambuser)

Nominated in Guldägget

Today we found out that one of our website productions is nominated in the swedish commercial contest Guldägget (Golden Egg). The production was made last year for Swedish Radio called "Sveriges skönaste dialekt". You can read more about Guldägget here and read some more about the website here.

New site for Forsman & Bodenfors!

Forsman & Bodenfors new website is released.
The site is built with the intention to give the visitors quick and easy access to the whole F&B portfolio. To get easy access, the whole site is built around a visual search engine that gives instant feedback (autocomplete with images) when searching. Enjoy watching F&B's work in the gallery with easy navigation with arrow keys or navigate traditionally with your mouse. There is also lots of amusing facts and statistics about the site, most frequent searched words, who is the most contacted person etc.

Some releases

Wrapping up the last quarter of 2008, we really worked our butts of on a vast variety of web sites, design concepts and a truckload of banners. The bulk of the projects where in cooperation with a few of our business partners, but we also had a couple of outsiders and even a request from the local municipal office.

For starters, we produced the official site for renowned Swedish actor Stefan Sauk. The site is a presentation of the actor and his work and contains movie clips, a picture gallery, biography, interviews and more.

Lundin Fastighetsbyrå is a real estate agency based in Gothenburg. They wanted to renew their old site and we where happy to oblige.

Libero is one of the leading Swedish producers of diapers and other baby products such as baby oil, wet wipes etc. Along with one of our business partners, we produced a micro-site in flash for their latest product campaign.

One of our business partners (our next door neighbour actually) came to us with a request to produce web sites for a few of their customers (all local companies). They provided the design and we nailed down the construction and back end programming.

Part of our daily routines consists of banner productions for one of our business partners. In November 2008 we set what propably is a world record for banners when the swedish tele-communication company Tele2 launched a massive campaign spanning all medias. Around 750 banners where produced during a 10 day span and the hosting bureau had never seen anything like it.



Oh, by the way ... we produced yet another banner campaign with additional landing sites for IKEA just in time for the christmas break.



All in all we just had a great 2008 and are already way deep in new exciting projects that will launch shortly.

BRIO campaignsite released

Last week the brand new stroller "Brio GO" was released. It is an easy to carry stroller that folds together especially designed for parents "on the go".

FF3 + Firebug Bug

Seems Firefox 3 in combination with addon FireBug does not play well together when loading and using xml. It is not possible to get into any element in the xml. The only option possible was to disable FireBug completely to get the script working. FireBug is one of the bets addons to FireFox and almost everyone at work has that one installed. What a bummer we cant use it on the web application we are developing.

"EM-Bevakaren" took a 6th place

In Resume's monthly web awards our production "EM-bevakaren" got some recognition. 6th place is really good considering the competition. "EM-Bevakaren" is a pretty simpla application specially designed for the european fotball championship. The application showed live odds, results, video clips and standings in the championship so people could follow everything at work. With a click på the space bar the application masked itself as a quarterly financial report so no one coming close could find out you were more interested in football than your work ;)

Summer release

One of the largest record stores in sweden is Bengans. The store is located in gothenburg but recently expanded to open a new store in stockholm. Bengans has been online since the late 90's and has always maintained a low profile on the web but with great support, ordering and knowledge behind the scenes. Since june they have been running a new website/shop. Visitors seem to find music quitker and with better accuracy so sales has been going up...

IQ in new clothes

For some time we have been rebuilding and redesigning www.iq.se to fit their profile even better than before. A couple of days ago we launched their new interface silently. Looks better, feels better, acts better!

Pop community released

After a well deserved summer vacation we are all back in our office now. During the vacation some of us took on a community website together with Forsman & Bodenfors. The young girls that each year goes to a Music camp in sweden can now stay in touch with each other after tha camp is over. There is still lots of stuff to add to the community but on its release today it seems that the kids enjoy it enough for now at least.

Summer issue 2008

The new summer issue tee's just arrived at the office. A new design by our graphic guru Thomas and they look really great. If you happen to stop by and visit our neighbourhood you just might end up owning one ;)

Everybody needs a Smile(y)

It has been up and running for a couple of weeks now - the Smiley Factory at Windows Live that is. The website is a small generator that creates smileys to be used in Windows Live Messenger. Its a pretty cool idea and we are happy to see it being used.

There was some trouble reported with the installer on some machines running Vista so if you try it and experiences something unusual just take a screen shot, write down some words on your configuration(s) you think might help and we'll try to duplicate it and fix it. Flash 9 dirty dirty smuts and some good stuff coming too...

Flash 9 / AS3 has some issues regarding unloading content that one of our developers pointed out this week. GSkinner writes about it and explains more on the issue.
The impact for us is crucial since almost everything we produce uses loaded content with contained functionality.

Next generation flash... Diesel
There are som really interesting news with rendering in 3D , kinematics and other advanced features but what hits us most is the new format for the source - XFL. The flash format specification has never been public but with this new xml formatted source the future opens up. This means that anyone could create a flash authoring tool in javascript or any other language for that matter. Adobe Air anyone? Flash As A Service? Possibilities are endless if only a XFL compiler is available *crossing my fingers and hoping for this to happen*.
